All our power
management IC's includes an on-chip battery protect circuit designed
for direct connection to unprotected Li-Ion / Li-Polymer battery
cells. These line of power management IC's offers OEMs a convenient
and cost saving migration for existing non-rechargeable
battery-powered products to be converted as rechargeable.
By providing
this feature on-chip, the overall circuit will require very few
external components which makes it possible to include a complete
battery charger with protect circuit, and an unprotected Li-Ion /
Li-Polymer battery entirely on the product PCB thus eliminating
additional tooling for existing product enclosures and permitting
their use with minimal revision. For the product end-user, it offers
the convenience of having a product rechargeable via the USB port,
making it lightweight, safe, plus the added savings on new battery
purchases.
Moreover, all
of our Power Management IC's incorporate a safe algorithm integrated
with safety timers for charging via the USB port, single cell Li-Ion /
Li-Polymer batteries thus ensuring full protection against the hazards
of overcharging.
