USB Li-Ion /Li-Polymer Charger with Battery Protect IC
This IC is a single chip
low-current Li-ion/Li-Polymer charger and battery protect IC
suitable for portable devices rechargeable through USB. It
incorporates
constant-current/constant-voltage charging for single cell
Li-ion/Li-Polymer batteries
using safe and efficient charging algorithms. It Provides Over-voltage
and Under-voltage
battery protection, as well as Over-current limit protection and safety
timers that are able
to detect fault conditions.

DESCRIPTION
The GOLF9122W IC is a USB powered single-cell Li-Ion/Li-Polymer
charger and battery
protect system for a wide range of portable applications. Being a
single-chip solution with
very few external parts required, it offers OEM's savings in enclosure
tooling by eliminating
the need for battery compartments and contacts. For the product
end-user, it offers the
convenience of having a portable device rechargeable through the USB
port and savings on
battery purchases.
The GOLF9122W IC incorporates a safe algorithm for charging
Li-Ion/Li-Polymer batteries.
Integrated safety timers ensure full protection against the hazards of
overcharging.
An optional input is also available for connecting a thermistor in
applications requiring
additional thermal sensing and protection.
